When James Tiberius Kirk saw a familiar figure in the crowd of people preparing themselves for leaving the ship, he knew it's „now or never“.

„Ambassador Sarek!“ he heard himself shouting. „Ambassador!“

The Vulcan turned around slowly and came to the young man, his face completely blank.

„Captain?“

And suddenly, Kirk wasn't sure where to begin, or what to say, so he just helplessly stared at Spock's father for a few exceedingly long seconds.

„I...“

„Yes, captain?“

Finally, Jim decided to stop thinking and simply be spontaneous.

„I wanted to... I want to apologize,“ he stuttered.

Sarek's eyebrows almost touched his hair-line.

„I'm afraid I do not understand. Apologize for what?“

Kirk quickly realized that maybe... just maybe... it wasn't Spock's human part who made his first officer so obnoxious sometimes.

No.

He took after his father.

„I'm sorry for... what I said on the bridge. When... You know...“ The captain cast a significant glance at the ambassador, hoping that the man wouldn't want him to go into embarrassing details.

'Sarek, come on! This is difficult for me, too. Just say: „It's ok.“,' he begged the Vulcan secretly.

„... when you said to my son that he had never loved his mother?“

'See? I.Told.You.That.You.Knew!'

Kirk managed to nod.

„I didn't mean it.“

The silence hung between them for a while.

But then Spock appeared, a PADD in his hand, and the captain would swear that his first officer looked actually at least slightly surprised when he saw them together.

„Father, the shuttlecraft is scheduled to leave in 5.46 minutes,“ the Vulcan announced. „They are waiting for you.“

Sarek didn't seem to be bothered by the fact. Once again, he looked at the young man in front of him.

„There's no need to apologize, captain. You did what you considered necessary. And although it was painful for... both sides, I must admit that it was also logical. And helpful in many ways.“ The Vulcan raised his hand in the traditional greeting. „Live long and prosper.“

„Live long and prosper,“ Spock repeated quietly.

Kirk just smiled.

„Thank you, ambassador.“

„Sir, may I have a question?“ the first officer asked when they were on their way back to the bridge.

„Sure thing, Spock.“

„I think my father used your title and the word „logical“ in the same sentence.“

Jim's eyes almost popped out. Seriously, was Spock attempting to be ironic?

„That's not a question, commander. It's an insult,“ he informed the man.

The Vulcan shrugged his shoulders.

„I would call you many things, sir. An impulsive leader with a saviour complex,“ he almost hesitated. „An efficient captain. But not a logical person.“

Kirk smirked.

„Well, that's a matter of opinion. Your father is a wise man. I mean... if he thinks that my decisions were logical, who am I to argue?“

Spock answered calmly, without any hesitation and his simple words made the captain speechless for a long time.

„Indeed. You are James T. Kirk,“ he said and they dropped the matter.

The performance was simply amazing. Awesome. And I met a lot of my classmates from Japanese studies there, everyone seemed to be curious about this special adaptation.
Later I found out that many of them felt a little bit depressed in the end (TRAGEDY, people, Macbeth is a TRAGEDY! Anyone expected happyend? :oD) but I, on the other hand, was really cheered up by... the play as a whole. While watching Noriyuki Sawa on the stage, I forgot everything else. It was relieving - I wish he would show up in Olomouc soon. :o)

What the hell...

I'm so pissed off... X____x

I tryied to reinstall Windows Vista on my laptop (it's broken), however even though I'm sure I didn't choose this option, I ended up with two systems per my damn computer in one time. Plus, somehow the graphics card seems to be failing too - the resolution changed from 1280x800 to poor 1024x768 and it is 1) now the highest possibility my laptop offers, 2) pretty unfitting.

And yeah, have I already mentioned how the washing machine in our flat + a towel made my favourite jeans... "hairy"? :oD Or how there is suddenly a hole in other pair of my trousers?

There are tons of tiny little things making me angry lately - but you know what? At least I've finally understood why certain musicians sometimes destroy all the things in their hotel rooms:

Having heard this from my favourite and completely reliable professor, I said "sayounara" to my idea of a perfect Asian gentleman.
But today... today I was asked to follow our Japanese lecturer to his office (I needed some documents) and though he went first all the way - rather quickly, he always waited for me when we reached the door and held them open for me. Three times! :oD I was like: O____o *doumo arigatou gozaimasu* and delighted in the same time.
Can we have more Japanese like this here? Pretty please? :oD

I actually don't like all that talking around b-day wishes - "I wish you blah, blah..." because it's sort of a poem we all have memorized in our minds. And many people don't even think about what they're saying when "using" it.

So...

Honey... you're a big girl now. But it doesn't mean you always have to act like an adult. We are still too young to know anything about the real life out there, so don't get depressed (I've read your journal). Just enjoy the fact that you're a healthy, clever and beautiful person.

Well, I'm finally back in college and the second year of my philological studies has just begun. Everything seems to be still the same though - English is more theoretical than practical, our Japanese teacher is so damn cute... and yeah, I found out that my roommate (she's actually a "flatmate" if such a word exists, because we don't share a room, I have my own... luckily) thinks I'm a lesbian. :oD
It almost makes me even more proud of myself. :oD

"The controversy over who is the best looking male tennis player in the world heated up to a new level today. In a hastily convened press conference Roger Federer announced that he was effectively going on strike until he was named the best looking player on the Men's tour.

"It's quite simple " he told this website "I want an end to this nonsense over whether I am good looking or not."

Federer has said that he will not play another game until he gets a definitive statement from the tennis authorities that he is the best looking male player in the world today.

Federer has demanded that the International Tennis Federation, the world governing body of tennis, organise a poll on a global scale that demonstrates he is not only the top seed but also top stud.

"For goodness sake, I am a Gillette pin up - why won't people just appreciate that I am good looking and let me get on with my tennis. All I am asking is that the ITF run a poll which proves how damn gorgeous I am. Then I can get back to being a sponsor's dream on the court."

Other players have yet to comment on this bizarre set of events - although Andy Murray was seen attending a sun-bed emporium. Meanwhile the ITF has yet to decide how it will react to this news."

Sometimes I wonder how my life would be like if I really was such a bitch as some people think.

Because I wanted to meet some Japanese to talk to, I registered myself to one site which seemed good - yeah, it was basically a dating site, that's true and I'm not ashamed of it but after I had received the third e-mail similiar to this one, I really... Well, see it for yourselves:

Why?

This journal was old, without updates, so I decided to take some radical steps - new layout (actually I've already had this one before, it was the very first one I used two years ago, so... maybe nostalgia? :oD), new icons... and, yeah, of course, some new friends in my friendlist. :o)

So... let the LiveJournal-ing begin!
